Meet Sima Hami: Safety Assessor and Regulatory Affairs Officer at Paragon Nordic

What is your role at Paragon Nordic, and what is your background?

I am a Safety Assessor and Regulatory Affairs Officer for cosmetic products. I have a Degree of Master of Science in Pharmacy and have previously worked in a pharmacy for seven years.

What might a working day look like for you?

My days are always varied! One day might involve issuing documents for the transport of finished cosmetic products to customers or sending samples by air to new or existing clients. On other days, I handle product registrations for the EU and UK markets. I’m also responsible for signing safety assessments (CPSR and PIF). Occasionally, I join customer meetings, which I enjoy because it gives me the chance to meet the customers we create products for.

What is the most enjoyable part of your job?

The variety of the work and the fact that you never become a complete expert. Those who know me know that I'm driven by learning new things all the time. Here, you have the opportunity to develop, and this role really offers endless growth opportunities. Another aspect I love about the company is the sense of involvement. You truly become part of bringing a customer’s vision to life — from an initial idea to a finished cosmetic product that complies with all legal requirements.

Have you developed any special skills during your time with the company?

I knew nothing about cosmetics when I first started - and, believe it or not, I still learn something new every day! I have gone from not knowing next to nothing about cosmetic products to becoming the "Regulatory expert" in customer meetings. I now issue documents, ensure legal compliance, and am one of the few trusted to sign safety assessments at the company.

Lastly, what do you think characterizes the Paragon Nordics work culture?

It’s family-like, full of positive energy, with committed employees and an overall happy atmosphere.
